Quick Answer
Nano hydroxyapatite gum is a sugar-free chewing gum made with nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA), the mineral your enamel is built from. Chewing it after meals boosts saliva to neutralize acids while delivering enamel-like mineral right when your teeth need it most. NanoChew combines n-HA with xylitol and erythritol in an organic chicle-and-mastic gum base. Chew 2–3 pieces a day after meals, for 20–30 minutes each.

Your enamel is under attack all day
Your enamel is constantly losing and regaining minerals. Acids from food and plaque bacteria dissolve its minerals, and saliva works to put them back. That cycle restarts every time you eat or drink. Your toothbrush only shows up twice a day, so the moment right after a meal is when your enamel needs support most.
What is nano-hydroxyapatite?
Hydroxyapatite makes up roughly 97% of your tooth enamel, and it's what gives teeth their strength.
Natural enamel is built from hydroxyapatite nanoparticles about 20–40 nm in size, and particles of a similar size have been shown to help repair damaged enamel. That's why nano-hydroxyapatite is called biomimetic: it gives your teeth back the exact material they're made of. See The Science behind NanoChew for how it works on your enamel.
A 50-year track record
Nano-hydroxyapatite is not a wellness trend. Its oral-care use traces back to a NASA patent that Japanese company Sangi acquired in the 1970s.
- 1993: Japan's government officially recognized hydroxyapatite as an anti-cavity agent. That followed years of lab research and field trials in Japanese primary schools.
- Since then: hydroxyapatite oral care spread to South Korea, Europe and beyond, and Sangi alone has shipped more than 150 million tubes.
What the research shows
It remineralizes early enamel damage. In a randomized, double-blind study at UT Health San Antonio, 30 adults wore intraoral appliances holding enamel samples. The researchers tested 5% and 10% nano-hydroxyapatite formulas against an 1,100 ppm fluoride toothpaste. All three significantly reduced mineral loss and lesion depth, and none gained significantly more mineral than the others.
It matches fluoride for cavity prevention. An 18-month double-blind trial compared hydroxyapatite toothpaste with 1,450 ppm fluoride toothpaste in adults. A 2024 meta-analysis concluded that trials like this confirm hydroxyapatite is clinically non-inferior to fluoride toothpaste for cavity prevention.
It's a standout for sensitive teeth. A 2023 meta-analysis reviewed 44 clinical trials on tooth sensitivity. In the randomized trials, hydroxyapatite outperformed placebo by nearly 40% and fluoride toothpastes by about 23%.
It works in gum form too. In a double-blind study of 107 people, a sugar-free gum containing hydroxyapatite significantly reduced tooth sensitivity within one to two weeks, compared with a placebo gum.
It has a strong safety profile. In 2025, the European Union's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety evaluated nano-hydroxyapatite. The committee found no mutagenic, cytotoxic or inflammatory effects, and found that uptake through the lining of the mouth is negligible.
Why remineralizing gum works so well
According to the American Dental Association, chewing sugarless gum for 20 minutes after meals can help prevent tooth decay. The extra saliva washes away food, neutralizes acids and delivers calcium and phosphate to strengthen enamel.
Gum is also a smart delivery format. It stays in contact with your teeth for an extended time, and the gum base can release active ingredients gradually as you chew. NanoChew puts that contact time to work with nano-hydroxyapatite in every piece.
NanoChew vs. regular sugar-free gum
| NanoChew | Typical drugstore sugar-free gum | |
|---|---|---|
| Nano-hydroxyapatite | ✅ In every piece | ❌ None |
| Sweeteners | Xylitol + erythritol | Mostly sorbitol |
| Aspartame | ❌ None | Common |
| Gum base | Organic chicle + organic mastic | Unspecified synthetic "gum base" |
| Sugar | Zero | Zero |
| Boosts saliva after meals | ✅ | ✅ |
| Calories | Zero | Low |
Regular sugar-free gum freshens your breath. NanoChew also works on your enamel.
How to use NanoChew
Chew 2–3 pieces a day after meals, for 20–30 minutes each.
A simple routine is one piece after breakfast, one after lunch and one after dinner. For best results, stay consistent for 3+ months. Keep brushing, flossing and seeing your dentist; NanoChew covers the hours in between.
Who loves NanoChew?
- Coffee and tea drinkers who want to counter daily acid hits
- Snackers and grazers
- People with sensitive teeth who are tired of wincing at cold drinks
- Busy professionals who can't brush after lunch
- Anyone who wants a gum that does more than mask bad breath
FAQ
What is nano hydroxyapatite gum?
It's a chewing gum infused with nano-hydroxyapatite, the mineral your enamel is made of, to support remineralization after meals.
Does hydroxyapatite gum work?
Hydroxyapatite is backed by decades of research on remineralization, cavity prevention and sensitivity. A double-blind study found that a hydroxyapatite gum significantly reduced tooth sensitivity within two weeks.
Is nano-hydroxyapatite safe?
The EU's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety evaluated it in 2025 and found no mutagenic, cytotoxic or inflammatory effects.
How many pieces of NanoChew should I chew?
2–3 pieces a day, after meals, for 20–30 minutes each.
Is NanoChew sugar-free?
Yes. It's sweetened with xylitol and erythritol, with no sugar and no aspartame. See the full ingredient list.
Does it replace brushing?
No. NanoChew adds to your routine by covering the hours between brushing.
Anything else I should know?
Keep it away from pets, because xylitol is toxic to dogs. If you have jaw or TMJ issues, check with your dentist before chewing gum regularly.
Tiny chew. Big impact.
Your enamel works all day. Now it can have support all day too.
These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. NanoChew is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and is not a substitute for regular dental care.
